Message from our Chief of Execeutive

May 17, 2008

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Not only did the Earthquake in China damage many houses, it also broke the hearts of many people. It’s unbearable to see. While feeling the pain of the survivors, I also tried to find ways to help them. Here are some updates:
The committees of CCHC’s Children Village and our partner, Gratia Foundation Limited, have agreed to:
Contact the China government to express our willingness of accepting the orphans into our existing Children Villages in Sanming, Fujian Province, and Hechi, Guangxi Province.
Confer the possibility of establishing a Children Village in the heavily damaged city, Mainyang.
Many schools collapsed and it is important to rebuild these schools. It is estimated that it takes 6 millions RMB to build a school. We have faith and accept the mission of rebuilding one school.
Rev. David Lee, the CCHC’s Southern California Superintendent, will go to the Sichuan disaster area. He will supervise the use of the donated money through CCHC and seek assistance from local churches. Rev. Lee and his team will visit and comfort the individual families. We wish to establish long-term care to those in need.
We promised the Chinese Red Cross Foundation that we would raise 1 million RMB to the disaster area. I am grateful that we already collected 1 million RMB today (May 17th) and wired the money to them immediately. Rev. Lee has already purchased his air ticket to Sichuan on Wednesday, May 21. With the help of the Chinese Red Cross Foundation, Rev. Lee will be able to reach the disaster area. A few years ago, through our Love Focus Foundation, we helped a little Sichuan boy, Chuan Er Ye, and have built up a very good relationship with his family. His father was helping in disaster relief when we contacted him. Mr. Ye will assist Rev. Lee while he is in Sichuan.

I am now in Hong Kong and cannot instruct the relief related work in New York and other branches, but I give thanks to our Lord the Provider and our staff who have responded quickly and precisely. While committed to bear responsibility of the relief work, I still worry about CCHC’s daily operational expenses. I trust that our heavenly Father will take care of us, but my faith is weak. Please also remember the need of CCHC’s staff and ministries. Thank you very much.

Your Co-worker,

Reverend Pak Cheung Lo
